Cambridge LaunchPad wins STEM Initiative of the Year at SciTech Awards

At last night’s Cambridge Independent SciTech Awards, we were thrilled to win in the STEM Initiative of the Year category, sponsored by CityFibre

The win marks a proud moment for our programme, as our offer and impact continue to evolve. The last few years haven’t been without their challenges, but with the help of our Industry and School Partners, and our fantastic team, the rest of this academic year and beyond look set to be some of our best.

The recognition of this award reinforces the ‘why’ of what Cambridge LaunchPad was set up to do – inspire young people into STEM careers, by showing that careers in STEM are for all.

Our Industry Partners and School Partners are at the heart of the programme experience. By connecting education and employment, we showcase the diverse range of careers and education pathways into STEM industries and meet the growing demand for a skilled workforce in Greater Cambridge.

Our programme offers interactive, practical experiences for participants from the ages of 8 to 18, designed by Industry Partner staff and facilitated by the Cambridge LaunchPad team. A full suite of activities can take place online, at company premises, in schools or other suitable venues.

We’d like to say a big thank you to everyone who made our win possible. To our hardworking team; to our Industry Partners who use their time and knowledge to help us create experiences and resources to inspire young people in our region; to our School Partners for their support; and to the young people we work with, whose enthusiasm and eagerness always show us why STEM careers are so exciting!
